Blair Co. Farm Preserved for Future Generations, Barger Says
October 10, 2025
HARRISBURG – A crop and livestock farm in Blair County has been accepted into the state’s farmland preservation program, ensuring it remains an agricultural property in perpetuity, according to Rep. Scott Barger (R-Blair/Huntingdon).
Barger announced the Pennsylvania Agriculture Land Preservation Board approved a conservation easement for 236 acres owned by the Biddle Family Partnership in Woodbury Township.
“I commend the Biddle family for protecting this land and building on Pennsylvania’s agricultural heritage,” Barger said. “Hardworking farmers are the ones who ensure we have food in this country, and it’s comforting to know future generations will still see farms right here in Blair County.”
The Blair County farm was among 24 properties preserved this week across Pennsylvania. Established in the late 1980s, the preservation program uses easements to prohibit commercial or residential development on prime farmland.
